How are your range hoods priced?
Our lines of range hoods are priced according to their size and type of metal our client chooses, not the amount of options that are chosen. Where a custom slip cast range hood will have unlimited options available to it, the production series is more economically priced with fewer choices.
How are the range hoods shipped?
Since each piece at Bastille Metal works is tailored to suit the needs of our clients, we exert an equal effort to keep our products safe during shipping. We hand-make our own crates for shipping and pad them carefully to keep any stress on the product minimal.
What kind of ventilation is used in your range hoods?
Our range hoods come equipped with Ventahood Pro-Series liner.
Is there any difference between the materials used in range hood production?
Our range hoods are slip cast in decorative metals. There is no difference in metals between the two series of range hoods or in the metals used to create our surface products.
What is patina?
Patina is a tarnish, produced by a chemical processes, that forms on the surface of many types of metals. When exposed to the elements, a coating of various chemical compounds, such as oxides or carbonates, form on the surface and can take decades to acquire an antiqued aesthetic. However, at Bastille Metal Works, we utilize years of experience to achieve the desired level of patina, treating each project like a piece of fine art sculpture. Don't be fooled. Patination can be as simple as spraying chemicals on metal haphazardly. Our methods are much more refined and exact. Getting the level of patination can be excruciatingly laborsome. Some metals, like zinc, require this oxidation to be stable.
How can the look of my range hood be maintained?
Bastille Metal Works recommends the use of simple soap and water to clean all of its decorative metal products.
