Bastille Metal Works was founded by art and design lover, Christopher Plummer. Over fifteen years ago, Chris became fascinated by the detail and the history of tin ceilings found in older homes and buildings. He became a leading authority on the origins, patterns and the restoration of this timeless design element. What started as a passion, became a business involving the painstakingly detailed work of the restoration and intricate installation of decorative tin ceilings. Chris subsequently developed a line of custom paint finishes that have become industry standard.

Over the years, Chris' creativity and his relentless study of metal working techniques led to the use of decorative tin in the development of a line of custom and production range hoods. The pursuit of new materials and methods of working with metals, along with a desire to be on the forefront of metal working design, ultimately led to the expansion into other soft metals such as zinc, pewter, copper and bronze and Bastille Metal Works was born. Chris developed the patent-pending method of slip casting which allows for the creation of endless custom options. We are known as the premiere custom zinc countertop, pewter bar top and custom range hood manufacturer in the United States and throughout Canada.

Bastille Metal Works has rapidly grown since our inception. Our work can be seen in homes, restaurants and bars throughout the United States and Canada. With our expansion, comes new applications of our slip-casting technology including table tops, mantles and furnishings. Stay tuned as we continue to grow. We find that with each unusual request we receive from our clients, we are able to push our capabilities and create showpieces that only a custom shop like ours can accomplish.
